Privacy Policy

Effective 6 September 2026 · Applies to the ScoreHouse iOS app and scorehouse-app.web.app

ScoreHouse is an app for running a friends' or society golf league: fixtures, scoring, results, a league table and the money that goes with it. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. We collect only what the app needs to work, we do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Who is responsible

ScoreHouse is developed and operated by the developer listed on the App Store. Questions and requests about your data: richiehope@me.com.

What we collect and why

InformationWhy we use it
Account details: email address, display name, optional profile photo, and a sign-in identifier from Sign in with Apple or your email/password sign-upTo create your account, identify you to the people in your leagues, and sign you in.
Golf information: handicap index, scores you or your playing partners enter, results, league points and adjustmentsTo run the competitions and league tables you take part in. Scores are visible to the members of that league.
League membership, RSVPs and invitationsTo show fixtures, who is playing, and to let admins run the league.
Money records: entry fees, pot contributions, prizes and payments recorded by league adminsTo keep the league's ledger. ScoreHouse records amounts only; it does not process, hold or transfer money.
Chat messages, reactions and photos you post in a leagueTo provide the league group chat. Visible to members of that league.
Scorecard photos you choose to scanSent to Google's Gemini model through Firebase to read the course details from the card. The photo is used for that extraction only and is not kept by ScoreHouse afterwards.
Course data you add (course names, tees, pars, stroke indexes)Shared with other ScoreHouse users as a course library so nobody has to type a card twice.
Push notification tokenTo send you the notifications you turn on: fixture reminders, results, chat mentions and money reminders. You can switch these off in the app or in iOS Settings.
Subscription statusTo know whether your ScoreHouse Membership or free trial is active. Payment is handled entirely by Apple; we never see your card details.
Device and diagnostic data: an anonymous installation identifier, device model and OS version, crash reports, and which screens are usedTo keep the app reliable and understand which features matter. Collected through Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics. This data is not linked to your account and is not used for advertising.
ScoreHouse does not track you across other companies' apps or websites and does not request the iOS tracking permission.

Where your data is stored

Data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore and Cloud Storage) in the London (europe-west2) region and protected by Firebase security rules so that only members of a league can read that league's data. Google acts as a processor on our behalf. Google's own terms and data processing terms apply to that hosting.

Who can see what

How long we keep it

Your data is kept while your account exists. Results and ledger entries are kept as part of a league's history so that tables and balances stay correct for the other members.

Your choices and rights

Children

ScoreHouse is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page and the effective date above. Significant changes will be highlighted in the app.
